Gerrity Lansing, Chief Executive Officer
Gerrity is one of the Founders of Equator, LLC and it’s Brazilian subsidiary, TTG Brasil Investimentos Florestais Ltda (TTG Brasil). A successful entrepreneur and experienced investor, Gerrity oversees the company's Timberland and Environmental Markets businesses, and also leads company-wide strategic planning and development. In addition to his role at Equator, Gerrity was a Founder of Madison Trading, LLC and Chatham Energy Partners, LLC (acquired by The Intercontinental Exchange, NYSE ticker "ICE"). He is on the Board of The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, the First Presbyterian Church Nursery School in New York City, and La Fundación de la Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. Gerrity received his B.A. from Duke University.
Carlos Guerreiro, President and Director of Forestry
A forester with nearly 30 years of experience in silvicultural planning, harvesting and forest management, Carlos is TTG Brasil's President and Director of Forestry. Carlos has responsibility for managing all operations and investment properties in Latin America. Carlos spent 13 years as a forest manager for Champion International, was head of operations for Ripasa Celulose e Papel, and also served as Chief Forester for Precious Woods and GMO’s Brazilian operations. In 1997, Carlos led the first successful effort to secure Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification of a sustainably managed tropical rainforest on behalf of Precious Woods’ Brazilian operations. Carlos served as president of the Association of FSC Forestry Producers of the Amazon (PFCA) and as a member of the FSC Board of Brazil. Carlos received his B.S. in Forestry from ESALQ at the University of São Paulo, Brazil.
Mitchell Kosches, Chief Operating Officer
Mitch has spent his career in accounting, finance, and investment banking. Mitch is responsible for the successful execution of Equator and TTG Brasil's day-to-day operations. Prior to joining TTG, Mitch was the CFO of Chatham Energy Partners, LLC (acquired by The Intercontinental Exchange, NYSE ticker "ICE") and Madison Trading, LLC. Mitch also worked as an investment banker, first at Gruntal & Co., and later at Brean Murray and Co., Inc. Mitch also served as an accounting manager in Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette's Merchant Banking Group. Mitch is a licensed CPA, and earned his B.S. from the State University of New York at Albany and his M.B.A. from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
Paul Gould, Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. Gould is the Chairman of Equator's Board of Directors. He has worked for Allen & Company since 1972 and established Allen & Company's arbitrage business in 1975. In addition to the Fund, Mr. Gould has been involved in Allen & Company's merger and acquisition advisory practice where he has served as a financial advisor to many Fortune 500 corporations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Liberty Global, Inc., Discovery Communications, and Ampco-Pittsburgh Corporation. He also serves on the board of trustees for Cornell University, the Wildlife Conservation Society, and the New School University, and is an Overseer for the Weill Cornell Medical College. Mr. Gould attended Cornell University and graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University.
Howard Gould, Member of the Board of Directors
Howard has served on its Board of Directors since 2009. He is a Founder of the company, and currently is currently the President of Tundra Capital Partners, LLC. Prior to this, Howard was a sales executive at Bloomberg Financial, and founded Flying Fish Unlimited, a conservation-minded media and marketing company specializing in the beverage business. He has also served as Director of Business Development for Microcast, LLC, a broadband fiber optic company, and Senior Manager at NetCatalyst, a boutique investment banking firm. Previously, Howard founded and ran Walkabout Productions, a wildlife filmmaking company. A committed conservationist, Howard also serves on the Chairman's Council of Conservation International.
Simon Roosevelt, Member of the Board of Directors
Simon Roosevelt was elected to the Board of Directors in 2009. He is a
member of the Investment Committee of Olimpia Fund, Ltd., a private investment
company based in New York, Geneva, and Bogota, Colombia. Prior to that he was an
attorney with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, specializing in mergers and
acquisitions litigation and corporate governance. Simon also devotes significant
time to conservation issues, both through non-profit service and private
projects. He is a member of the Boone & Crockett Club, a trustee of the Scenic
Hudson Land Trust, and is a New York State Parks Commissioner for the New York
City region.
